1. Traveling by Motorbike

Although motorbikes are not a form of public transportation, you can easily rent one in Hanoi at a very low cost for getting around. Riding a motorbike is a popular choice for adventure seekers and budget travelers who want full freedom to explore the countryside upon arrival.

Travel Time: Around 3 to 3.5 hours.

Route: Take the Hanoi – Bac Giang highway direction, then head toward National Route 1A into Lang Son province before turning into Huu Lung.

Important Local Tips:

• Ensure your vehicle is in good working condition, particularly the brakes, tires, and lights.
• Be cautious on highway segments where large trucks operate, and keep an eye out for local speed checks along the route.
• Always wear a full-face or sturdy helmet, carry your valid driving license, and check the weather forecast beforehand—riding in winter rain can get very cold!

2. Private Taxi / Private Car Service

If you value convenience, comfort, or are traveling with a group carrying heavy climbing gear, booking a private car is the most hassle-free option.

Travel Time: Around 2 to 2.5 hours via the CT01 Hanoi – Lang Son Expressway.

Estimated Pricing:

• 4-seater car: Approximately 1,300,000 VND to 1,600,000 VND (~$50–$65 USD) per trip.
• 7-seater car: Slightly higher in price, usually around 1,700,000 VND to 2,000,000 VND (~$68–$80 USD).

Advantage: Direct door-to-door pickup from your Hanoi accommodation straight to your homestay or resort in Huu Lung.

3. Local Bus Options

Taking a passenger bus is cost-effective, but you need to pay attention to the route details. Most standard long-distance buses running along National Route 1A only drop passengers off at Yen Vuong (on the main highway). From Yen Vuong, you will need to catch a local motorbike taxi (xe ôm) or a local taxi to reach your stay in Yen Thinh or Huu Lien (an additional 15–25 km).

However, two direct bus services can drop you off closer to the main climbing and accommodation areas in Huu Lien and Yen Thinh:

Hoang Phuong Bus (Xe Hoàng Phương):

• Departure from Hanoi: Departs daily from Yen Nghia Bus Station at 12:00 PM (Noon).
• Return to Hanoi: Departs from Huu Lung back to Hanoi at 9:00 AM daily.

Hien Dat Door-to-Door Bus (Xe Hiển Đạt):

• Service: Offers flexible door-to-door pickup directly in Hanoi and drops off right at your homestay in Huu Lien / Yen Thinh.
• Price: Around 200,000 VND per person (~$8 USD). Higher than standard buses, but well worth it for the direct service.
